Clive B. Gordon spent his entire life in northern California, most recently in Sacramento, until pulling up stakes for Japan in 2012. Since stepping off the plane, life has been a series of modest adventures, revolving around either the vast cultural divide between Japan and the U.S., or simply the naivety of his own prior life. Sometimes it’s hard to tell which of these factors drives his interest in a given observation.

Gaijin Adventures focuses on what it’s like to show up in Tokyo, fresh off the plane, and start work for a traditional, domestic Japanese corporation. With wildly irregular timing, Clive explores issues of unfamiliar workplace customs, social situations, and simply trying to fit in as a foreigner in such a distinct and uniquely charming country.

gaijin, 外人:  (noun) foreigner
